Henrickson takes us on a journey through his daily life at éolane as a Sales Administration Technician.
Can you introduce yourself?
Hello, my name is Henrickson. Before joining éolane, I worked in a small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) in the agri-food sector, where I spent 14 years as a Logistics and Grand Export Sales Administration.
I felt the need for a change, and the electronics industry appealed to me. So, in February 2019, I joined éolane as a Sales Administration Technician.
How was your integration within éolane?
Thanks to some very interesting training programs, I was able to quickly familiarize myself with software tools, such as SAP, for example. This also helped me understand the differences between the agri-food and industrial sectors. In my previous job, we processed simple orders, but in the electronics industry, orders are more complex due to the multitude of components on a circuit board.
Can you describe your main tasks?
I always start by prioritizing urgent matters and preparing order progress updates for clients. I identify critical components, confirm acknowledgments, and have discussions with the schedulers who are on-site and provide me with information. When I have solutions, I propose them. Otherwise, I hold meetings with the procurement team and negotiate the impacts of On-Time Delivery (OTD) with clients.
What qualities are required to excel in this profession?
In a role like this, one needs to have a high level of perspective. It can be a stressful job, requiring one to meet client demands and remain responsive. It's important not to take things too personally, but simply give your best effort.
Being able to work in a team is also essential. Currently, we work in an open space, which is great for facilitating communication, but it also comes with downsides such as difficulties in concentration and constant noise that need to be taken into account.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
The electronics industry is what interests me the most. It's very fulfilling to work in a company that manufacture products on its own production line in its workshops for its clients. I enjoy learning from the diversity of our products across different markets—it's incredibly enriching. When people ask me where I work, I immediately say "electronic circuit boards"! *laughs*
Furthermore, the working hours are flexible, which is great when you have children. I have flexibility in my work organization that allows me to be autonomous. Each of us manages our portfolio as we see fit, and it's comfortable. Within my team, we support each other when needed while maintaining our independence. I'm fortunate to have a great manager who supports and listens to us.
